Smith Hall is a great dorm for first-year students. It's a great way to make connections that will last. The people living there are always very friendly and willing to meet new people. Smith has a reputation for having crazy students in the good way, you can always find a party to go to. There is always something to do! If you're always studying and need peace and quiet this can be a bad thing. True the rooms are very small but you can make the best of it. The bathrooms are down the hall but newly renovated and always clean, there's a sink in your room which is a plus. There's never a problem with waiting for a shower or toilet, especially on the guys floors. The building is conveniently located near alomost all freshman classrooms too, unless you are an artsy person. Also every room has its own air conditioner so you can control the temp unlike other dorms. I am happy I lived in Smith and I had a great year, but I going back isn't really something I am interested in.

It was good to be around a lot of freshmen but the walks were really long and it was a pain to get to class or anywhere other than south campus really.

I think Wood was a very good dorm if you want a large room and quiet space to study, but when it comes to being close to central campus and the commotion of events and things to do, it is not the best dorm to live in.
