Rooms are extremely small. However, the fact that you have a kitchen while living on campus makes up for it.
awesome location but super small rooms. best on campus tho for everything
Very nice for an apartment style dorm! Love having a room to myself as well as being located on campus.
It's a great apartment style dorm. The best part is that I have my own room that I can lock the door to. =)
Ragans is the upperclassman dorm, and it's the only residence hall that is socially acceptable to live in after freshman year (living off-campus is much more in-vogue). Unfortunately, Ragans is one of the priciest dorms on campus, costing substantially more than most off-campus apartments do. However, the apartment-style dorm is admittedly rather comfortable to live in and very convenient to both the east and west sides of campus. There are 4 rooms per each apartment, a living room, and a kitchen. The rooms are a bit small, and you could find much better off-campus, but they come furnished and have more space per capita than a double-occupancy room. I hesitate to say that the kitchen is a decent size; it's certainly decent enough for two or three people, but it's very difficult for four people to keep all of their stuff inside of it; I know that many people, myself included, ended up keeping most non-perishable food inside of their rooms in order to make space. It is nice, though, to have a full-size refrigerator/freezer at your disposal. The bathrooms are much better than those of other dorms. You only have to share it with one other person, and there is substantially more counter space than most other dorms. The layout is set up so that the bathroom doesn't feel crowded, and the house staff is very kind and always willing to help when something goes wrong. There is one parking lot next to Ragans, but it's nearly always full (and the cars that park there on Monday generally stay there until Friday). Unfortunately, parking on the FSU campus is a nightmare in general, but there are a few parking lots and one parking garage that are within a 3-minute walk of Ragans. There is almost always parking available after 6 or 7 pm, but parking during the day is impossible (so you're going to want to do your grocery shopping at night).
Very large rooms with plenty of space for all everyone. Residents are all upper classmen, so it makes it a very attractive place to live, and the RAs are great. The only downside is the paper thin walls hurt your ability to get quiet study in at times.
