1300 was the best place to live, especially my freshman year. The honors dorms are amazing and the RAs can be really nice. They only get annoyed when you are constantly locked out.

It is technically the Honors Dorm, so it can have some odd quiet hours, especially during exams, but they're are still pockets of incredibly social people, generally awake and talking or playing games in the lobby until at least 2 or 3 every morning. The social aspect of the dorm is partially hindered by the fact that all of our room doors close automatically, so you have to use a door stop to prop it open if you want people to just pop in anytime while you're sitting around, but it is definitely a great location and well worth some of the trade-offs. Central Air and Heat is always a plus, and there is one of the nicest parking garages on campus right next door as well.

I love my room in lothrop. The singles are a decent size, the closet is huge, and the sink is very convenient. I have enough room for a very large desk, a bookshelf, and a chair. I live in the health sciences living learning community, so we do do floor activities which helps people meet each other. But since i'm a sophomore, some of my friends also decided to live in the living learning community. So it's nice to have my friends nearby, but if I was a freshman I could see how it might be tough to meet people since it's singles. There really isn't much parking on the hill, but it's convenient enough to drop stuff off. The bathrooms are much cleaner than the previous dorm that I lived in. The location is a little out of the way, but not too much. It's only about halfway up the hill, and it hasn't been too much of a problem yet. The only problem I've found so far is the noise. The helicopters flying to the hospital are easy enough to get used to, but every once in a while the university feels the need to refill the biomedical tower gas tanks between 11-12pm and it's the most annoying sound that goes on for over an hour. It's nice to have a workout facility right in the dorm though. The only thing that could make the dorm nicer would be a coffee card or something in the lobby cause it's a bit of a walk to get any kind of food.
